Back in 1998….At the same time that I graduated college with a degree in Education, I fell in love with photography. Now, for the past nine years I have been doing photography, but during the same time I have also been a teacher. Fortunately, photography is intense in the summer months, when I don’t teach. Most weddings are also on the weekends and so the two jobs compliment each wonderfully. Being an Oregon Wedding Photographer is something 10 years ago I would have never considered…now I can’t imagine not doing it. Most of my photography is in the Portland area, but I photograph weddings all over the state.
As for my teaching job, I currently teach K-5 PE in the David Douglas School District, just outside Portland, OR. I have been at my school for the past 5 years, and for 4 years before that I taught down in Roseburg, OR. It is so much fun! I use my photography skills to help the school. This past year I did staff portraits and framed them and hung them in the main hall of the school. People often comment and rave about the nice edition!
