Albany & Corvallis Family Portraits

Family pictures capture a special moment in time.  Years later, you will look back at your photo albums and prints.  That place is called Memory Lane.  It is priceless.  Tell the story of your family from infancy through the “wonderful” teenage years.  Then let the next generation repeat.

Portraits tend to be a mix of posed family pictures along with photo-journalistic images.  Those photo-journalistic lifestyle images tend to be the more fun, silly, “capture a moment” type shots.  As a professional photographer, I can’t pose these type of shots.  I will generally guide the process and have you be in a certain area, but after that I will tell you to “have fun”.  Play with each other, tickle, hug, shove each other around.  What happens will definitely vary from family to family, but in the end, you want fun pictures that spark emotions like laughter and bring a smile to your face.   Even pictures of crying babies can be super cute!

Pretty much all the photo shoots I schedule are on-location.  What that means is, I come to you or to a location that will look great in your family pictures.  Often families in Corvallis, Albany, Eugene, Salem, Lebanon, Sweet Home, Monmouth, Dallas, or Silverton, will choose their own home because it is familiar territory for kids.  When kids can be kids, that is when the fun pictures can happen!  Besides the home, parks and other outdoor locations make for great spots to take family pictures.  Some of my favorite places are: Avery Park, Takina Landing, Monteith Park, Adair Park, downtown Albany or downtown Corvallis.  Oregon State University campus is also a great location for family pictures!
